HOME WEEK with KATHIE ODOM

Spend an all-inclusive Monday through Saturday painting plein air with Kathie in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Up to twenty-two fellow artists will experience an East Tennessee springtime on the quiet side of the park near the home of Kathie and Buddy. Included are all meals served together, housing, demos from Kathie*, the camaraderie of painting together each day, special outings and good old down-home hospitality!

Monday afternoon (October 6) – Check-in and Barbeque at the home of Kathie and Buddy

Tuesday (October 7) – Morning demo from Kathie plus afternoon paint out at Private Location

Wednesday (October 8) – Day in the mountains with afternoon demo from Kathie

Thursday (October 9) – A full painting day at Cades Cove including Kathie’s demo

Friday (October 10) – Final day spent on the Odom property painting the rural countryside

Saturday morning (October 11) – Morning check out

Accommodations nearby in Townsend, Tennessee.

Lunches delivered to you at each painting site.

Kathie and Buddy live 11 miles from the Knoxville (TYS) airport.

National Park parking pass fee included.

Included in fees are all meals, special programming, tuition, National Park parking pass and your five-night sleeping arrangements based on your choice below. Limited # of spots and rooms are available based on first-come, first-serve. All rooms have small refrigerator and microwave. If you have any questions, contact Buddy at [email protected]

All fees are based on the Shared Standard Room fee of $1850 per person, even non-painters. (see deduction below for non-painting spouse/partner). If coming alone you will be paired with a roommate (#1 below) unless you choose a single room (#2 below). To figure fee choose your room from the following:

1. Shared Standard Room (Two Queen Beds/One Bath)- $1850
2. Single Queen or King Room with bath - $2100
3. Locals who need no accommodations – total fee is $1300

• non-painting spouse, deduct $400 (ie - artist pays $1850 or $2100 then non-painting spouse/partner pays $1450 or $1700)

Non painting spouse/partner - you come on all non-painting special outings and meals !!

Locals who need no accommodations – you come to EVERYTHING!

* Will Kathie give further “workshop” instruction other than her demos? Will she instruct/assist at your easel? Answer: This is a hybrid event, a cross between a paint-out and a workshop. During the week Kathie will offer three demos, each a wonderful learning opportunity for everyone. She will also set up to paint along with everyone else during the remaining hours of each day, with no additional formal instruction planned. BUT, if you would like her insight or input, JUST LET HER KNOW… she will be MORE than happy to talk with you about your painting!
