Thank you for continuing to follow Kathie's ever-evolving art career! Summer of 2013 proved to offer Kathie a new momentum as she heads into the fall. While painting regularly in the open air, one of her large original oil paintings was purchased and installed in the Chi Omega Sorority house at the University of Tennessee. A painting of gathered lilies in Townsend seems to be an appropriate subject matter. "For the Girls", 32x42 Chi Omega House, University of Tennessee Also Kathie was honored in the 45th Annual Oak Ridge Open Art Show with the Genevieve Stoughton Award for Oil Painting with her piece entitled "Living Together". Speaking of Kathie's work, Juror Jeffery Adams, Director of the Appalachian Center for Craft said, "masterful plein air work, honest and direct."
