Connecting Kathie and the Art Collector
How art awakens another has long been pondered. Does the painting evoke
an emotion from the viewer? Or is it a connection the collector finds
with the artist? Does the appeal of a nostalgic scene awake an old and
pleasant memory?
Whatever the reason, Kathie is humbled each time someone purchases a
painting. "It is so flattering that someone would want to own and
display a moment that spoke to me so deeply", she says.
This newsletter is written in gratitude to all Kathie's collectors and
especially those who gave permission to include a snapshot of their own
homes.

Kathie's favorite spot on earth, the Great Smoky Mountain's Elkmont,
was the scene for Where Harry Met Sally.
It is also the location where these collectors escape to get away from
it all. And now the rich memories linger in the spot they frequent
most... their own home.

Little River was purchased by auction at The Friends of the Smokies
annual Evergreen Ball. This is Kathie's pledged charity, a devoted
group of generous Tennesseans and North Carolinians who aim to secure
the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for years to come!
"The longer you spend working on something - loving it into
being almost - the more you get attached. It's silly, but you do hope
they go to good homes."

While painting Knox Vegas from atop the Cumberland Avenue parking
garage, Kathie was approached by WBIR for a special interest story.
Amazing how art awakens ALL people !

High in the mountains near Cashiers, North Carolina, sits a Christmas
tree farm that caught Kathie's eye. Waiting for Tinsel keeps the Season
alive throughout the year for these collectors!
