Recently a friend of Kathie's told her, you have a special place in
your heart for life back then. Whether it is preserving the memory of a
place almost forgotten, honoring the work of those who have gone on, or
capturing a moment that speaks more than words, Kathie's hope is to
remember and connect.
Deep in the Holler recognizes the American pioneers who cleared land
without machine to create the countless homesteads in the Appalachia
mountains. Glen Mills Kept helps us take notice of the days when
railway stations were the center of city life. And we are reminded that
we too can carry on a life like our ancestors when we view Mountain
Grocery.
Buddy, Kathie's husband, has written a letter to a friend about her
painting, Resolute. To read simply click the image above or log onto

50 Years married together,
Preserving the past,
Redeeming the present,
Passing along what they've been given,
Never forgetting where they came from.
